Brazilian Waxing and Sugaring: What to Expect
Before Your Appointment
The day of your appointment, your hair should be at least a ¼ inch long (the length of a sprinkle). This allows the wax or sugar paste to grip around the hair.
Is this your first wax or sugar appointment? We recommend not shaving for at least two weeks prior to your appointment.
After your first wax or sugaring, we suggest you wax or sugar every three to four weeks.
Maintain and enhance your results at home by following aftercare instructions below.
After Your Appointment
Daily and Day of your Wax/Sugar: WASH
Always wash with an appropriate cleanser for the area you are having waxed. Something gentle, with little to no fragrance and pH balancing.
Daily and After your Wax/Sugar: TARGET
We have several products that compliment post-wax care and contain skin-soothing ingredients. Use daily to help prevent ingrown hairs or 2x daily to help treat existing breakouts. We also carry treatment products for brightening.
Daily and After your Wax/Sugar: MOISTURIZE
Our moisturizers replenish skin and are safe for daily use. Moisturized skin makes your next wax easier and faster.
2-3 Times a Week and Day Before your Wax/Sugar: EXFOLIATE
Our exfoliating products slough away dead skin cells to deter ingrown hairs and keep skin smooth.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Disrobing
You will be asked you to remove your garments from the waist down before hopping on the treatment table. This allows your specialist to work uninterrupted and also prevents wax/sugar from getting on your undergarments or clothing.
Cleansing
First, we'll cleanse the area to remove any makeup, oils or lotions that would prevent wax/sugar paste from properly adhering to hair.
Waxing Protection
Next, we protect your skin with soothing pre-wax oil.
Sugaring Protection
Next, we protect your skin with a generous layer of talc free powder.
The Wax
Then we apply a hard wax at a warm bath water temperature. Hard wax (also referred to as a strip-less wax), gets its name from the way the wax cools and hardens after it's applied to your skin. The wax is then removed without the use of a cloth strip.
The Sugar
Then we apply a soft sugar paste at body temperature. Sugar paste is made of sugar, lemon juice and distilled water. Sugar paste is removed in the direction of hair growth.
Restoration
Finally, we restore the area by applying our after-waxing/sugaring products, like our client-favorite Agent 88 ingrown hair spray and soothing jasmine oil.
